PGL Major Stockholm was an unbelievable tournament with lots of great games and a truly spectacular Grand Final. After years of blood, sweat, and tears, Na’Vi has finally won a Major. But just as spectacular as their result are the stories and the spicy details of the competition.

A Marriage Proposal

For the first time in CS:GO history, a competitor proposed to his girlfriend after winning a big trophy. Natus Vincere player Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhaylov made his girlfriend a happy woman by asking her to marry him live, right after he lifted the PGL Major Cup.

The 22-year-old player from the CIS crew took the microphone from the host, James Banks, knowing his girlfriend was watching him from home, all the way from Moscow. No one had any idea what was going to happen until the shy player asked one last question: “Will you marry me, Lika?” After he returned home, he confirmed on his Instagram with a beautiful Story that contained this text: “She said yes!”

Who Is Boombl4?

Kirill Mikhaylov, known as Boombl4, is a professional CS:GO player who plays as the in-game leader and entry-fragger for the Ukrainian team named Natus Vincere. His team won three major tournaments in one year.

Who did Boombl4 propose to?

According to her Instagram biography, Boombl4’s girlfriend is a family doctor, making her a health professional. She has over 17k followers on Instagram under the anonymous name of “LiQueen”. She also keeps her Instagram profile private, so people can’t stalk her.

The Top 4 Teams

The PGL Major event was very emotional, as the team leader proposed to his girlfriend when the team won. Team Natus Vincere won $1 million and 4,000 Blast Premier points, being the first team to win a CS:GO Major without dropping a map.

In 2nd place, team G2 Esports won $300,000, followed by Gambit Esports and Heroic, which received $140,000 each.

Funny Moments and Nice Plays at the PGL Major

  1. During the 17th round between teams TYLOO and Movistar Riders, Chinese player YuLun “Summer” Cai won the round by killing the last 2 players that tried to ninja defuse the bomb with only „Two double stabs!”, as the commentator put it.
  2. In the last 8 seconds of the round, sh1ro from Virtus.Pro planted the bomb while opponent qikert camped the bombsite. By pushing the enemy while planting, player qikert missed the entire ammo load, then got one tapped, making him lose the round as his teammate got sniped later on.
  3. B1T won his team, Na’Vi, a key round against NiP, by killing the enemy player REZ with his knife thanks to his beautiful hiding spot and the focus of his opponent on short, making him not check corners.
  4. In the 5th round of Nuke, acoR from MOUZ threw the smoke a little too far, making it land in a river, making the commentator joke: “Gone over the fence again, someone has to collect the ball boys!”
  5. During a pause, the stream engineers switched the scene to the wrong one, making it a very funny moment for the chat when the commentators were caught unprepared.
  6. In the 15th round between Heroic and G2 Esports, NiKo landed some insane AWP flicks and Deagle one-taps. It was one of those “one hundred years of luck in 1 minute” moments. Although, given how skilled the player is, this was clearly not a result of luck.
  7. When the terrorists pushed ramp, player ZywOo landed some extremely difficult sniper flicks, in the 4th round of the match between Vitality and Entropiq, acing the round all by himself.
  8. During one of the pauses, host Richard Lewis brought on the stream a WWE belt, mimicking the start of a WWE match. This was a hilarious moment that will no doubt be clipped by fans for memes.
  9. Player Lucky from Astralis wiped the enemy team, with his AWP, clutching the round one versus three.
  10. One of the most popular clips from the PGL Major was NiKo’s missed Deagle shots. The player tried to kill s1mple with his pistol but ended up losing the round by missing all the shots, then getting sniped, which helped enemy team Na’Vi clutch up the round.
  11. One of the most insane plays of the tournament was Olofmeister’s Famas and USP-S ace, in the 17th round against Team Spirit. His opponents didn’t check any corners while entering the bomb site, which ended up badly for them.
  12. In the audience, a male viewer took the opportunity while the camera was on him, of showing his abdomen, making the commentator say „No nipples on twitch!”,
  13. While the team Virtus.Pro forced an eco round, player Rain was holding Ramp from CT with his M4A1-S, making him land some insane headshots and burst sprays, one of Rain’s specialties. The player from Faze Clan scored an insane ace!
  14. BOOMBL4 played hide-and-seek against sh1ro, making the timer run out in the last 4 seconds. It ended up in an insane round win for his team, Na’Vi.
  15. Olofmeister’s two one-tap Deagle shots on Inferno, against Team Liquid, resulted in a beautiful round win with a very lucky 0.1 defuse time. It even made the commentators very enthusiastic as they couldn’t believe their eyes. The bomb almost exploded!
  16. s1mple’s insane AWP wall bangs against G2 on Ancient resulted in a clutch and an important round win for his team.
  17. While flashed on map Inferno, player karrigan killed one enemy, then proceeded to hold the bomb site as best as he could, which resulted in a huge round win for FaZe.
  18. One of the best plays of s1mple was his ace on Cache, which was just a simple M4A4 peek that turned into a beautiful spray on the entire team, with a single magazine!

These are some of the most beautiful moments from the PGL Major event, which was held in Stockholm, Sweden from October 26 to November 7, 2021! This Major was one of the most amazing CS:GO events to date, and certainly the one with the biggest prize pool.
