Nordavind puts full line-up on the transfer list. The norwegian organization parted ways with Sabit “mirbit” Coktasar and Co. after just half a year. The 24-year-old is still under contract, but he is free to explore other opportunities.

Mirbit is a german player with turkish roots and played in the past for german top teams like Sprout and aTTaX, but decided to choose an international career in February 2021. With Nordavind, however, he was not very successful except for a second place finish at the Elisa Invitational Spring 2021 and was last ranked 58th in the world.

Will Nordavind the Counterstike scene?

Nordavind had a danish-estonian-german lineup and announced Tuesday that they are putting the whole team including Daniel “Mertz” Mertz, Jesper “TENZKI” Plougmann, Kevin “HS” Tarn, Anton “supra” Tšernobai and mirbit on the transfer list. HS and TENZKI have been a part of Nordavind longer than anyone else.

Stein Wilmann, the CEO of the organization, explained that the decision was “strategic rather than performance-based”. He also added that the “Nordavind Talent” academy lineup will remain unchanged, focusing on the Norwegian and Nordic scene.

“Over the past years we have built a very close relationship with HS and with TENZKI, which is why the decision was not easy for us, but we believe it is the right move in terms of our goals and ambitions for the future of the organization.” Nordavind also said that they “will not leave the scene and will soon announce plans for the future.”

The team will most likely split

The future of the players is still unclear, but it certainly looks like they will be parting ways. Tenzki released a statement on Twitter, hinting that they will not continue to play together. “We will all be put on the transfer list, which means we can look for new opportunities. We gave our best. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be for us. I wish mertz, HS, supra, mirbit, and m1cks all the best.”

It was also confirmed that former Cloud9 assistant coach Joshua “m1cks” Micks will remain with the organization. He joined the organization in June 2021. All of Nordavind’s players are still under contract with the organization but are looking for a new team.
