Many people ask, “How do I win every pistol round without a hassle?” With some simple tactics, you could easily eliminate the enemies in just a few seconds.

What Gear Should You Buy?

The first thing we should consider is gear. The equipment you’re going to buy is going to be based on your tactic. If you’re going to push the A or B site with your friend, while on the Terrorist team, you should always buy flashes or a better weapon, like the Desert Eagle. The armor doesn’t play a big factor in the first round, as the only thing you can buy is the Kevlar Vest. If you’re going to be on the Counter-Terrorist side, you should always have a defuse kit, as it is vital equipment that could make the difference between a win or lose.

Terrorist Side

Firstly, you should decide on what site you’re going to push. At least two players should buy smokes and the others flashes or guns, depending on their skills. Try to not do steps while pushing if your team decides on pushing slowly. If your team is trying a more aggressive push, try to flash and run into the site, while holding the crosshair at head level. One important thing is to not block your teammates while you push.

Counter-Terrorist Side

You just joined the match and the warmup has ended. You’ve been assigned to fight the bad guys, the Terrorists. One of your big advantages is going to be the fact you can camp with the USP-S, being a gun that is one shot on the head almost every time. Depending on the map, you should always peek at a corner that allows you to retire to a safe spot after getting some easy kills. I strongly advise you to not push on the pistol round, as it isn’t necessary. Try to only push when you need to reclaim a bombsite.

Try to Play on Maps You Like

Playing on maps that you like plays a big factor in the pistol round. A good angle to hold, or some nice camping spots are always going to be in your favor. I like the map Dust 2, as it is the first map I played all the Counter-Strike editions on. From my perspective, I consider Dust 2 as one of the most balanced maps in CS:GO.

How to Defeat Your Enemies

Depending on the side you’re playing for, you should take some measures to outplay the enemy team. Try to switch on the site they’re pushing if you’re on the CT side. If you are on the terrorist side, try to push as fast as possible with your teammates, mainly using your flashes. Smokes and incendiary grenades are a good way to stop the enemy from pushing a site. You can even find some extremely good smoke training maps on the workshop, or even on YouTube.

In the end, you can achieve anything if you want to. The sky’s the limit.
