Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, one of the most favorable first-person shooters in the world, turns 10 years old soon and in favor of the title’s anniversary, Valve has launched a brand-new patch that adds a new competitive map rotation, the Birthday Sticker Capsule, and the chicken cupcake coin.

Ten years ago, Valve changed the gaming industry by launching CS:GO, but it feels like it happened yesterday. Despite the title’s respectable age, the game is still played by more than 500,000 average players per month. During the last 30 days, the title’s player base peaked at 1,039,889 online players at the same time.

New maps in matchmaking

To celebrate the 10th anniversary, Valve added maps such as Anubis, Breach, and Tuscan to official matchmaking in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch game modes. In turn, Climb, Crete, Hive and Iris were taken down from the rotation. Also, Wingman game mode received Primetime and Blagai maps.

The Tuscan map addition is a key update to the game, as it was one of the most popular options in Counter-Strike 1.6., however, it was never ported to the last iteration of the franchise. The recreation of this map took several years but it finally happened this August.

CS:GO Birthday Sticker Capsule and chicken coin

Apart from game changes, the developers added the 10-Year Birthday Sticker Capsule into the game, which has over 60 community-submitted designs with new items quality “Lenticular”. Moreover, players can get a special anniversary coin that features a cupcake with a chicken coin on top of it.

To obtain the coin, users must update the game, play some matches to raise their level, and get the first in-game drop of the week. Chicken coins will be dropping only until August 23. The last of the added features is the new ability to inspect all items in cases through the player’s inventory.
