Former Astralis in-game leader Benjamin “blameF” Bremer has made a surprising decision. He has joined Fnatic’s Counter-Strike roster.
Failure In Astralis
Bremer is recognized as one of the greatest riflers in the world, consistently placing within the top twenty players every year. He was given a massive opportunity to lead the star-studded Astralis lineup featuring Martin “stavn” Lund and Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard.
Unfortunately, after failing to qualify for the PGL Copenhagen Major and missing out on playing in front of their home crowd, Astralis decided blameF’s structure as an in-game leader was unsuitable for the team and benched him from the roster.
Though nobody in the community doubts blameF’s capabilities as a rifler, many wanted to see him stray away from the in-game leader role and focus on fragging.
New Chapter – Fnatic
After departing from the legendary Danish organization, fans were left wondering which team blameF would fit in. He definitely possesses the individual skill to land a spot in a top-ten team as a rifler.
With this announcement, we have made some changes to the current CS lineup with Can “Kyuubii” Ali moving to the substitute roster.

However, the Dane made a completely unexpected move and joined Fnatic, a struggling roster currently ranked 31st in the world. Though the UK-based organization has a prestigious history in the Counter-Strike scene, the current roster is only a shadow of how great Fnatic used to be.
Alas, blameF made his way to the Fnatic roster, which was a move that sent waves throughout the community.
The Fnatic organization is thrilled with the signing, and Ross Rooney, the Esports Analyst and Strategy Manager of the team, shared a few words surrounding his arrival:
“Bringing Benjamin into Fnatic is a significant move that indicates our ambition to return to the top echelons of competitive Counter-Strike. Benjamin is a franchise-level player whose impact goes beyond just his in-game ability. This acquisition marks a significant shift from our approach over the last few years, emphasizing our commitment to not only participate but return to meaningful competition. Benjamin’s consistent top-tier performance and leadership experience offered an opportunity to energize our roster and signal our intentions to the market.”
With Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro shouldering the role of the in-game leader, blameF will likely transition to the star rifler role in the Fnatic roster. On paper, nobody can deny that he is the most mechanically skilled player on the team.
With the addition of blameF, Fnatic is forced to let go of Can “kyubii” Ali, who had been playing in the roster under a trial period since November 2023.
The newest iteration of the Fnatic Counter-Strike roster includes:
- Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
- Aurélien “afro” Drapier
- Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro (IGL)
- Matúš “MATYS” Šimko
- Benjamin “blameF” Bremer
- Jamie “keita” Hall
The Fnatic roster has a long way to go before they can return to competing at a Tier 1 level. However, the addition of blameF puts them on the right track.
