Copenhagen Flames has assembled a new CS:GO roster bringing together former members of Mad Lions, Fnatic, Sprout, and ECSTATIC.

Copenhagen Flames, an organization known for boasting decorated and skilled lineups, have added a mix of fresh talent and seasoned players to its brand new CS:GO roster named Flames 3.0. Thomas “birdfromsky” Due-Frederiksen, a former ECSTATIC in-game leader, will lead the new Copenhagen Flames team, with Rasmus “raalz” Steensborg, a former Sprout player, serving as a secondary shot-caller.

As part of the organization’s commitment to boosting young and upcoming talent in the lineup, Copenhagen Flames have also added emerging AWPer Iulian “regali” Harjau along with the former duo of MAD Lions, Johannes “b0RUP” Borup and Thomas “TMB” Bundsbaek. With the stated goal of extending player retention, the organization has also announced that it will also be boosting its investments in a variety of fields, including research, health, technology, and performance.

The Danish Organisation will return to competitive play with Flames 3.0

After the PGL Stockholm Major in November 2021, the organization announced its intention to sell its entire CS:GO roster, owing to a lack of funding to retain the players and increase their pay. The company apparently came very close to signing a deal with Complexity Gaming. Complexity Gaming, however, turned down the deal, forcing the Danish Organization to transfer its lineup separately.

After the PGL Antwerp Major, Fnatic signed Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi and Fredrik “roeJ” Jrgensen, while the remaining three players—Jakob “Jabbi” Nygaard, Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, and Rasmus “Zyphon” Nordfoss—were placed on the transfer list. Daniel Vorborg, the director of esports, co-owner, and head coach of the Copenhagen Flames, also resigned from the group, citing the need to embark on a new adventure. The company made its first move on August 5th, appointing Philip “tekzinz” Karsbl as the new Head of Esports to establish the groundwork for Flame 3.0. At the time, he commented on his appointment:

“I will be doing my very best to continue and build on what Vorborg started and develop the future of Flames with smart and bold decision-making. I’m excited to be part of this club and community and can’t wait to get started!”

Putting together a balanced roster of seasoned and young talents, the Danish organization will be hoping to see good results in the second half of the professional CS:GO season. According to the organization’s announcement, the new roster’s goal will be to break into HLTV’s top 30 world rankings as soon as possible. The team has already won its debut match against Team RAZER at the European Regional Major Ranking (RMR) qualifiers.
