After two days of exhilarating esports action at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, Malaysia emerged as the most successful team with three gold medals. England, Wales, and Northern Ireland were next on the list with one gold medal each.

Esports players and supporters rejoiced after the Commonwealth Games Federation followed the 2022 Asian Games suit and included the Esports Championship at the main event. Despite being hosted in conjunction with the Commonwealth Games 2022, the first Commonwealth Esports Championships was merely a demonstration event and not an official medal-rewarding sport.

Three non-violent video game titles with sizable player bases and vibrant gameplay were exhibited during the event, including Dota 2, Rocket League, and the eFootball series, which was originally known as Pro Evolution Soccer.
