Raymond “Rambo” Lussier is no longer the Head Coach of OpTic Texas. This information has been confirmed by the owner of the organization, Hector “H3CZ” Rodriguez.

Scump Watch Party Announcement

On this esports legend Seth “Scump” Abner’s Call of Duty League match broadcast, H3CZ has revealed that Rambo is no longer the Head Coach of OpTic Texas. While it is true that Rambo’s Twitter bio still mentions that he is the Head Coach and General Manager of OpTic Texas, it is still unclear what role he plays right now.

Rambo was the starting lineup coach for OpTic Texas during the 2022 season and, before this venture, was the Head Coach of the Dallas Empire. Recall that OpTic completely absorbed this team for over a year.

This news of Rambo’s dismissal as Head Coach comes after Brandon “Dashy” Otell’s accusations, where he mentions that the coach was leaving practices early.

After this clip, Dashy was removed from the team’s starting lineup, but he returned shortly after when Scump decided to retire early.

Rambo said on his Twitch stream:

“I’ve been in CoD for the last 15 years. Whatever needs to be done to make this team successful is what I want. If that means my involvement is not directly in the team, so be it.”

OpTic Texas is at the forefront of CDL

Currently, OpTic Texas is the only team that is undefeated in Major II qualifiers. Recall that the team’s current roster is as follows:

  • Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro
  • Indervir “iLLeY” Dhaliwal
  • Cuyler “Huke” Garland
  • Brandon “Dashy” Otell

It is unclear how long Rambo has been out of the picture as Head Coach of OpTic Texas. But it is presumed that he was still in the coaching role during last weekend’s games.

On the other hand, H3CZ confirmed, as we heard earlier, that Rambo is no longer the team’s Head Coach but did not give the name of the replacement. Undoubtedly, several top coaches could join the team, and many retired players could fill this position.

OpTic Texas will play its final two games of the online Major II qualifiers this January 28 and 29 against Las Vegas Legion and Atlanta FaZe. However, the team strongly believes in remaining the only undefeated team before the LAN in Boston to be played in early February.

It is unclear why Rambo stopped coaching OpTic and if it had anything to do with the chemistry within the team.

Scump defends Rambo

On the same broadcast of the CDL games, Scump took it upon himself to defend Rambo regarding Dashy’s strong statements in the past and said:

“Let me defend Ray real quick. He was wrongly made out to be bowling and stuff. This all happened when people were angry. When people are angry, they exaggerate things. I’m talking about Brandon. It happened. That’s how it always happens.”
