Cloud9 started off the second week of the LCS Summer Split with a convincing victory over Dignitas. After missing the first week’s LCS action, Kim “Berserker” Min-cheo and Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen joined Cloud9 this week, ending their 0-3 losing streak.

Cloud9 is off to a comeback, winning their first 2022 LCS Summer game after suffering three straight losses in the opening week. After missing the first week, the destructive duo of Berserker and Zven joined C9, bringing their strength to maximum potential.

During the first LCS week, Berserker and Zven were replaced by the oceanic duo of C9’s academy team — Calvin “K1ng” Truong and Mitchell “Destiny” Shaw. However, the young players have failed to make an impact as they were dismantled in their first week’s matchups by Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, and Immortals. The team was unsynchronized, and they lacked the focus and composure to convert any opening into a big game-winning play. Consequently, K1ng and Destiny will return to the Academy team.

Cloud9’s first win in LCS Summer Split

With their outstanding individual performances and confidence-boosting presence, Berserker and Zven had a direct impact on the scoreboard in their first LSC Summer game. Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami’s late-game scaling on Kayle was the game’s standout play, even though the entire lineup contributed to the team’s victory. He kept putting Dignitas on the defensive while his leveled Kayle dealt a tonne of damage, compelling them to surrender. Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen and Robert “Blaber” Huang, C9’s mid-laner and jungler, both delivered outstanding support to Fudge’s playmaking effort.

With this victory, C9 rose from last to tie for seventh with Golden Guardian and Immortal. Now that the reliable duo is back in the lineup, the team will try to keep up their momentum to recover from the shaky start. Today, Cloud9’s full force roster will take against 100 Thieves, and considering 100T’s previous performance, it will be a hard journey for the men in blue and white. If C9 pulls off a victory against 100T, it will increase their confidence and give them a big boost in the standings.

Dignitas, on the other hand, suffered four straight losses and are currently last in the standings. The team lost to Counter Logic Gaming, Team Liquid, and 100 Thieves before facing C9. The squad is in serious need of a breakthrough to mount a comeback before the damage becomes too severe to fix. However, in today’s game versus Immortals, the team will undoubtedly try to earn their first LCK Summer victory.
