New Evolutions and Lucky Chests in Clash Royale October 2025 Update

The October 2025 update of Clash Royale, Season 76, brings many changes, including Lucky Chests, a new Champion cycle, and two new evolutions! Whether a casual or competitive player, there is now more strategy and more gameplay to take advantage of.

Lucky Chests, a New Take on a Reward System

Lucky Drops are no longer around and have been completely replaced with Lucky Chests, creating a more reliable system. Chests come in three types:

Common Lucky Chests: Have card and gold with 3 spins
Magic Lucky Chests: Have card, gold, items, and cosmetics with 4 spins

Seasonal Lucky Chests: Rotate each season that have their themed variant’s

In October, players can get

Haunted Lucky Chest: Has Skeleton Army and Royal Ghost Evolution shards that also have cosmetics
Phantom Lucky Chest: Focuses on Royal Ghost Evolution shards and themed rewards

A pity system to get rewards feels more reliable the more chests you open for better and meaningful progression.

Champion Cycle Rework & Two New Evolutions

The Champion system has been modified into more options and gameplay. Champions now cycle through the deck like normal cards, meaning that the old limit of 3 cards per game has been removed. A Champion will have an active ability until a new Champion card is played, which activates easiest with the crown icon. Cooldowns will reset, or the soul-bar refreshes, whenever a different Champion is played from the deck. If the Skeleton King is played again from the deck, it will refresh its soul bar. Players are still allowed one Champion per deck, but the change, along with new Evolutions, will afford tactics and more intelligent timing.

Season 76 has added two Evolutions that will change the game ground:

Evolution of Royal Ghost: Spawns with two “Souldiers” that deal damage on arrival and provide protection while materializing. This card will be available in the Shop on October 17th, 2025 at 9 AM UTC.
Evolution of Skeleton Army: Now with General Gerry, a Skeleton who makes all Skeletons invisible and indestructible while he is alive, making many counters not work. When General Gerry is defeated, the army falls apart.

The Evolutions will bring new strategy elements and surprises to every match.

Daily Rewards and Game Mode Switcher

The daily rewards have been modified to be the same for all players. Players now receive four Magic Lucky Chests each day. The switcher for game modes now shows new events and will label them “New Event!” The switcher now also has access to the Training Camp and tournaments.

With these changes, Clash Royale is becoming more strategy-based and rewarding. These features range from the deployment of Champions and seasonal Lucky Chests to Evolutions; and we are in for a strong season in October 2025.
