A crossover that no one really saw coming — three well-known football stars Messi, Pogba, and Neymar have been confirmed for a Call of Duty collaboration, including Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

The recent leaks about soccer superstars Messi, Pogba, and Neymar Jr. appearing in Call of Duty titles have been confirmed, including Call of Duty Mobile, Warzone 2, and Modern Warfare 2.

How will Neymar, Messi and Pogba appear in the game?

Leakers first hinted that the footballers could appear in Modern Warfare 2 as part of some kind of promotion for the World Cup. Another leak confirmed that they will appear in the game in some playable form.

Based on that, it’s possible that the three soccer players will either appear as playable operators or just appear as skins for existing operators in the game. They could also only appear in a limited-time mode, as other leakers have pointed out. However, the developers are yet to reveal the form in which the footballers will appear in the game.

The first match of the World Cup kicks off on Sunday, November 20, so more information about this collaboration is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

CoD crossover with celebrities and fictional characters

Call of Duty is known for its crossovers and collaborations with real-life characters and celebrities like Snoop Dogg, but also for working with fictional characters like John McClane from Die Hard, Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, John Rambo, Ghostface from Scream, and many others.

More Modern Warfare 2 news

In addition to the three famous footballers who will soon appear in the game, more exciting news regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been recently released. This includes the developer announcing a ranking system for the game, which should be introduced to the game early next year.

Furthermore, details regarding the new season of the College Call of Duty League have been revealed, bringing a fresh format to ensure the highest level of competition yet.
