Ahead of the Call of Duty 2021 season, the New York Subliners have announced the signing of James “Clayster” Eubanks, with the three-time World Champion having recently been released by the Dallas Empire. 28-year-old Clayster departed from Dallas just two days after leading his team to the World Championship title, in part due to the new 4v4 format of the 2021 Call of Duty League season.

The New York Subliners themselves parted company with Donovan “Temp” Laroda, Lamar “Accuracy” Abedi and Dillon “Attach” Price recently, who were all part of their main roster, with veteran Thomas “ZooMaa” Paparatto and youngster Makenzie “Mack” Kelley having stuck around. In fact, it is ZooMaa who has been the shining light for the Subliners, with the Italian having helped the team in winning the home series event back in July.

Where Will Clayster Fit in At the New York Subliners?

Following his arrival, Clayster will act as main Assault Rifle for the Subliners, alongside two Submachine Gun players. New York are currently on the lookout for a fourth player for their main roster, with both Attach and Accuracy having moved to the Minessota ROKKR, where they will team up with Michael “MajorManiak” Szymaniak and Preston “Priestahh” Greiner. It has been suggested that Johnathon “John” Perez or Paco “HyDra” Rusiewiez could be being considered by the Subliners, with both believed to be returning in starting positions for the upcoming Black Ops Cold War season.

Having also represented compLexity, FaZe Clan and eUnited in the past, Clayster has been playing Call of Duty since back in 2007, with such experience having helped him in winning back to back World Championships in 2019 and 2020. Having gained an excellent reputation as a result of his in-game leadership, part of the reasoning behind his switch to the Subliners is to help nurture young talent.

What Clayster Has Achieved to Date

The 28-year-old is also a XGames Gold Medalist and World Championship MVP, meaning that the deal was really a no brainer for New York. His successes to date have seen him earn over $1 million in prize money, of which $144,000 came from the Call of Duty: Advances Warfare. Clayster has also turned his hand to streaming of late, having attracted some 300,000 subscribers on YouTube.

The New York Subliners finished fifth in the regular season stnadings, before losing out to the London Royal Ravens in the third round of the 2020 Call of Duty League Championship Losers Bracket, having initially struggled at the beginning of the year.
