Chinese esports organization JingDong Gaming or JDG has partnered with top British luxury automobile manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover.
Esports Insider has reported that the announcement, stating via the Chinese social media platform Weibo that the team has made the collaboration featuring the Land Rover Defender.
Through the partnership, Jaguar Land Rover has been announced as the exclusive automobile partner of JDG. JDG is the esports arm of JingDong, which is one of China’s largest e-commerce platforms. Their main holding group, Esports Insider reported, also owns JD Health, JD Technology, and JD Pharmacy.
Esports Insider has also announced that JDG entered into a variety of partners such as Intel, ASUS Republic of Gamers, BOE Technology Group, gaming chair brand AutoFull, streaming platform Huya, electric motor brand NIU, condom brand Durex, and most recently, Doppelherz, a German supplement brand.
Last year, the Chinese esports team JDG made headlines by announcing a partnership with German airline Deutsche Lufthansa AG, becoming the first Chinese team to be sponsored by an international airline brand.
JDG is best known for its League of Legends team, which competes in the Chinese League of Legends Pro League (LPL). The organization clinched victory at the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational in London and secured a top-four finish at the previous year’s League of Legends World Championship.
In the 2024 season, JDG placed third in the LPL Spring Split, narrowly missing a consecutive international appearance at the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).
Additionally, JDG recently announced its entry into the King Pro League (KPL), the professional league for the mobile game Honor of Kings, by acquiring Vici Gaming’s division. With this move, JDG now competes in multiple titles, including League of Legends, Honor of Kings, PUBG Mobile, and VALORANT.
Financial details of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
