Valorant teams BreakThru and popular streamer Disguised Toast’s Valorant team Disguised secured their spot at the NA Challengers League through the open qualifiers.

BreakThru smashed the start-studded roster of The Nation to become the first team from the open qualifiers to officially enter the NA VALORANT Challengers League. The players on the BreakThru roster have extensive VCT playing experience, having previously played for teams like FaZe Clan, Luminosity, TSM Academy, and Ghost Gaming. The team, led by the former head coach of Heretics and Vitality, didn’t even lose a series during the open qualifier.

After crushing Team Reckaroo and OR Esports in the first two rounds of the top 16, BreaktThru booked their encounter with The Nation. Despite trailing 0-1 after the first map, BreakThru rallied against Nation,  the star-studded Valorant team that included some of the biggest professional FPS names in Jacky “Stewie2K” Yip, Matthew “Wardell” Yu, and Braxton “brax” Pierce.

With two straight exceptional performances on both Haven and Ascent, the BreakThru players secured their spot at the NA Valorant Challengers League, which is scheduled to start on February 1.

Stewie2K will take on Dark Ratio in a best-of-three lower bracket quarterfinal match tomorrow, with the winner qualifying for the Challengers. Given its starting lineup’s firepower and experience, Nation still has a strong chance of making it to the Challengers. Brax, whose promising career was ended due to a match-fixing incident, was one of the first CS:GO veterans to join Valorant in 2020. Wardell, who helped TSM win two Ignition Series competitions in 2020, was formerly regarded as the top Operator in North America.

Disguised claims the second open qualifier spot in the NA Challengers League.

Following weeks of anticipation, streaming sensation Disguised Toast’s Valorant team finally made its debut in open qualifiers for NA Challengers. Led by veteran and former T1 in-game leader Joshua “steel” Nissan, Disguised swept the decorated Oxygen Esports roster in the decisive match to claim the second open qualifier spot at the NA Challengers League. The squad didn’t lose a single series during the 256-team qualifier, which changed to a double-elimination format once the number of teams dropped from 256 to 32.

Despite having an impressive roster of former players from teams like T1, Renegades, Knights, and C9, Oxygen faltered against the young guns of Disguised. However, the team will have another opportunity to advance to the Challengers League when they take against The Silk Road in the fourth round of the lower bracket.
