The excitement continues in the last great Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament of the year, the BLAST Premier World Finals. As we mentioned in a previous article, the eight best teams of 2022 are battling for a share of the juicy prize pool of $1,000,000.

Now, we are down to the last day of the competition, where only two teams are still alive, and they are just one win away from being crowned champions and taking home no less than $500,000.

But, before this, the teams had to face each other in the event’s semifinals, where we had very intense and exciting matches.

Recap de la Semifinal del BLAST Premier World Finals 2022

In the semifinals of the BLAST Premier World Finals 2022, we had the four best teams of this tournament, FaZe Clan, G2 Esports, Team Liquid, and OG.

After two phenomenal best-of-three series, we already know the two finalists of the tournament, Team Liquid, and G2 Esports.

Team Liquid 2-1 OG

The North American team, Team Liquid, continues its excellent level of play in this BLAST Premier World Finals, proving that leaving teams like Outsiders and NaVi on the road was not a coincidence.

The series took place on three of the most played maps in this BLAS Premier World Finals, Overpass (Liquid’s selection), Inferno (OG’s selection), and Anubis (decider).

Overpass – OG win

The first map was a real surprise for Team Liquid, who made only four rounds in the first half. Then, they tried to come back but only managed to make eight rounds on the Terrorist side and lost 16-12.

NEOFRAG ended all Liquid’s hopes on this map with an excellent K/D of 25-22 and an ADR of 105.4.

Inferno – Team Liquid win

On the second map, everything was completely different. Liquid could go nine rounds in the first half, starting on the CT side, with EliGE carrying their team with impressive stats of 16-9 and 119 ADR.

In the second half, Liquid found a way to overcome OG’s defense, and they managed to finish with a score of 16-10 to force the third and decisive map.

YEKINDAR woke up in the second half in Inferno and wreaked havoc with OG’s defense.

Anubis – Team Liquid win

Finally, the teams entered the third and decisive map, an Anubis that may still be something new for some players.

Team Liquid, starting on the CT side, made 11 solid rounds in the first half that allowed them to be only five rounds away from being present, again, in a major tournament final.

They did not disappoint in the second half and ended up taking the win 16-7.

NAF, YEKINDAR, and EliGE were in charge of crushing OG in every part of the map. All three players from the North American team finished with over 100 ADR each.

G2 Esports 2-0 FaZe Clan

The second semifinal between G2 Esports and FaZe Clan was full of emotions from start to finish. This series had a choice of classic maps in the history of CS:GO, Nuke (selected by G2 Esports), Inferno (picked by FaZe Clan), and Mirage (decider).

Nuke – G2 Esports win

Absolute madness was lived in the first map of this semifinal between G2 Esports and FaZe Clan. This is, without a doubt, one of the best matches we have seen in recent times.

FaZe Clan started with everything on the CT side on Nuke, one of the most CT side maps in CS:GO. However, the first half was favorable for FaZe with a 9-6 that gave them the confidence to face the second half.

G2 Esports responded in the second half by winning seven of the first eight rounds to take a 13-10 lead. FaZe reacted and went ahead 14-13 thanks to an excellent round with karrigan with a tec-9.

Finally, with the match 14-14, jks of G2 Esports had an impressive clutch to win round 15 and then killed three enemies in the last round to give G2 Esports the win 16-14.

In addition to jks, huNter- and m0NESY had a great map to lead their team to victory.

Inferno – G2 Esports win

Finally, G2 Esports took a blow to the table by beating FaZe Clan which is considered the best team in the world, playing Inferno, with a score of 16-13.

As expected, FaZe Clan started their favorite and selected map with a handful of strategies executed to perfection. Unfortunately, the team took the first half with an 11-4.

Everything seemed to indicate that FaZe Clan could take this match to the third map, but G2 Esports said no. With a SPECTACULAR comeback, the Golden Boys, as the organizers call them, turned the score around and took the victory 16-13.

In Inferno, huNter- and m0NESY shone for G2 Esports, demonstrating a spectacular level of play and leading the team to the grand final.
