The BLAST Premier Spring Showdown is already underway, and in a few days, we will know who will be the last two teams to join the rest in the Spring Final.

On the first day of this qualifying tournament, we could see how NiP, Cloud9, and paiN Gaming won their respective matches to continue their dream of getting a ticket to the LAN tournament in June. First, however, let’s remember that both the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown in the US and NA has only one spot available for each region.

While the teams are competing for the $20,000 that the winner gets, there is no doubt that the prize that everyone is looking for is the qualification to the Spring Final.

Spring European Showdown: NiP beats OG Esports with reverse sweep included

NiP pulled off an excellent reverse sweep to take the 2-1 victory over an OG Esports that certainly surprised by winning the first map.

Mirage (OG), Vertigo (NiP), and Overpass (decider) were the maps played in these quarterfinals between NiP and OG of the BLAST Premier Spring European Showdown.

Mirage

OG started very strong on the T side thanks to Shahar “flameZ” Shushan and Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen, who managed to decipher NiP’s defense to take a partial victory 8-7. Undoubtedly, this result left NiP, who looked like heavy favorites in this series, somewhat shocked and, above all, surprised.

NiP showed their bewilderment in the second half, as OG Esports won the first seven rounds to take a 15-7 lead and be just one round away from victory. Then, NiP had an attempt to react with three consecutive rounds, but it was in vain, and OG ended up winning 16-10.

Vertigo

In Vertigo, NiP woke up completely and was able to show why they had the tag of favorites in this series. While the first half was much more evenly matched than anyone could have imagined, as NiP took the partial win 8-7 on the T-side, it was all different in the change of sides. Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen took it upon himself to repel each OG Esports attack and lead NiP to a comfortable 16-8 victory.

Overpass

Finally, NiP delivered the second and final blow to OG Esports in Overpass, a map they dominated from start to finish thanks to a phenomenal performance by Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin, who finished with 119 ADR and a 1.96 Rating.

The first half gave us a sample of NiP’s supremacy when they managed to win 10-5 on the T side. There is no doubt that this score gave them the necessary impulse to continue on their good streak, and they managed to take a very comfortable victory with a score of 16-6.

Spring European Showdown: HObbit and Cloud9 crush Copenhagen Flames

Abay “HObbit” Khassenov had a spectacular series against the Copenhagen Flames and led C9 to a 2-0 victory that put them much closer to the goal of qualifying for the Spring Final.

This series was played at Ancient (CPHF) and Vertigo (Cloud9).

Ancient

The map that was a bit more balanced in this series was Ancient, the map pick of Copenhagen Flames. However, Cloud9 took a 9-6 win from the CT side to give them a considerable lead for the second half.

The Copenhagen Flames tried to react by winning three of the first five rounds of the second half, but it was not enough for them, and they ended up conceding with a score of 11-16.

Vertigo

It was more of the same in Vertigo, but, Cloud9 showed their high quality and excellent current form after an excellent 12-3 partial T-Side victory in the first half. With that, the Copenhagen Flames didn’t have much to do to try to come back from the game. In addition, Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov repelled each of the Danes’ approaches.

In the end, Cloud9 won the second map with a high score of 16-7.

Spring American Showdown: paiN Gaming sends home MIBR

The boys from paiN Gaming continue to show a spectacular level of play by defeating MIBR in the quarterfinals of the Spring American Showdown with a score of 2-1. For paiN, Romeu “zevy” Rocco and Rodrigo “biguzera” Bittencourt shined to lead their team to victory.

The series was played at Anubis (MIBR), Nuke (paiN), and Vertigo (decider).

Anubis

paiN Gaming started the MIBR map pick with excellent play and a spectacular collective game. As a result, they managed to take the partial victory with a score of 11-4 from the CT side. This was thanks to great rounds by Romeu “zevy” Rocco, who had 117.4 ADR and a 1.95 Rating.

Although MIBR tried to react to the change of sides, their efforts were not enough, and they fell with a score of 9-16.

Nuke

This time, in the second map, paiN’s selection, Nuke, fell on MIBR’s side. However, we were treated to a spectacular match that ended in Overtime with a score of 22-18.

MIBR started strong on their side CT winning 9-6 in the first half. After that, however, the MIBR boys showed a very good level of cooperative play, and thanks to that, they still had hope in the series.

In the second half, paiN Gaming reacted thanks to a great zevy side, and they managed to equalize the match 15-15 to send it to Overtime.

Finally, after two overtimes, MIBR pulled out all the stops thanks to their spectacular CT side and took the victory 22-18.

Vertigo

The series is decided in Vertigo, one of the favorite maps for all Brazilian CS:GO teams. In this opportunity, we observed a crazy first half, as paiN Gaming was ahead on the scoreboard 7-2 at some point in the match. Finally, however, MIBR woke up in such a way that they managed to take the partial victory 8-7.

In the second half, everything changed; it was paiN Gaming who came out to overwhelm their rivals with Felipe “skullz” Medeiros, with 110.4 ADR and 1.88 Rating, in addition to biguzera (115.2 ADR and 1.81 Rating), crushed MIBR with a 9-2 that allowed them to take the final victory 16-10.
