BLAST Premier Spring Groups is scheduled to take place between January 19-29. A total of three groups will be played sequentially and group B seems to be the easiest to figure out.

This group features FaZe Clan, Complexity, Team Liquid, and OG. Arguably, FaZe Clan and Team Liquid are much stronger than the other two teams, so the battle for this group will take place between these two.

This battle is important because the winner qualifies for BLAST Premier Spring Final immediately. Meanwhile, the remaining three teams will need to compete in the Play-In stage.

Group B favorites

As mentioned before, the favorites in group B of BLAST Premier Spring Groups are FaZe Clan and Team Liquid.

FaZe Clan made no roster changes for the start of 2023, which means that they’re the same formidable team they used to be last year. Because they won four S-tier events and dominated even the likes of Natus Vincere and G2 Esports without too many problems, they are likely to do the same at this tournament.

FaZe Clan are in great shape and that’s because of players like Robin “ropz” Kool and Helvijs “broky” Saukants. Both of them were in the top 20 CS:GO players of the year in 2022, and their determination to make a name for themselves is clearly enormous at this point in their careers. This constitutes FaZe Clan’s foundation.

But, truth be told, every single member of this roster is exceptional. There were some rumors a few weeks ago that Havard “rain” Nygaard would take a break because he has a newborn child. But it seems that he’s still interested in competing.

Team Liquid proved their class at the recent BLAST Premier World Final, a tournament in which they finished second. If they can play the same way at this event, then their place in BLAST Premier Spring Final is guaranteed.

Both OG and Complexity are much weaker than Liquid and FaZe, so we know for sure that one of them will win the group. And the favorite is definitely FaZe. One thing that makes Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s team the favorite is the contrasting difference between FaZe Clan’s roster and Liquid’s.

Usually, FaZe Clan are very motivated at the start of the new season and feel like they need to do better than they did at their last tournament. But Liquid are known to be a bit demotivated after losing a Grand Final of an S-tier event. That’s why karrigan’s team will probably be in better shape.
