Today, BLAST Premier revealed the schedule for the upcoming Spring Finals 2022. The event will be held in Lisbon, Portugal between June 15-19 and will feature the top eight teams of the current competitive CS:GO season.

While the IEM Dallas is still ongoing, another big CS:GO event is already in the works. This year’s BLAST Premier Spring Finals will boast a $425,000 shared prize pool and a seed into the $1 million World Final, scheduled to take place later in December.

Teams and venue

Eight teams qualified for the Spring Final via BLAST Premier Spring Groups and Showdown stages in January-February and April-May, respectively. Fans will be able to spectate the event live from Altice Arena in Lisbon. However, only the semifinals and Grand Final will take place at the venue in front of a live audience.

Here’s the BLAST Premier Spring 2022 team line-up:

Group A:

  • FaZe Clan
  • G2 Esports
  • paiN Gaming
  • Team Vitality

Group B:

  • Natus Vincere
  • BIG
  • ENCE
  • OG

While FaZe Clan, the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 champions and the runner-ups Natus Vincere are in different groups, fans hope to see the revanche of the Major’s finale with the same tension. Many CS:GO lovers also root for ENCE, since they showed a great performance at the Major, finishing at the 3th-4th place.

However, we can’t but highlight the absence of Team Spirit from the CIS region, as they didn’t qualify for the event despite recently entering the Top 5 CS:GO teams according to HLTV’s rankings.

New format

In this edition of BLAST’s Spring Finals, the organizers made changes to the format and abandoned the double-elimination bracket. The new format will see eight teams divided into two groups of four squads. The team with the best results in each group will enter the event’s semifinals directly, while the second and third places will advance to the quarterfinals.

Schedule

BLAST Premier Spring Final will start on Wednesday, June 15 and will run for 4 days, until the winners are decided. The first match will be held between FaZe Clan, the PGL Major Antwerp champions, and paiN Gaming from Brazil. The following matches on the first day are:

  • G2 Esports vs. Team Vitality
  • Natus Vincere vs. OG Esports
  • ENCE vs. BIG

The exact schedule of the tournament is yet to be revealed by the organizer. As always, fans can watch the competition via BLAST Premier’s official Twitch channel.
