BLAST Premier Fall Groups – Group D Favorites

fragster Radu M. 31. July 2024

Group D of BLAST Premier Fall Groups is one of the most competitive. Whoever wins this group will need to play a nearly perfect game because the opposition will not forgive any mistake.

Natus Vincere, BIG, Virtus.pro, and Team Liquid are competing for just one Fall Final spot and one play-in stage spot that could result in a second Fall Final qualification. All four of them have at least a tiny chance of winning the group but Na’Vi and VP are the two big favorites.

Natus Vincere

Na’Vi won the Copenhagen Major and also the Esports World Cup. Even without s1mple, the Ukrainians have demonstrated over the last nine months that they are good enough to beat anyone in the world. The few competitors who still give them a hard time are Team Spirit and FaZe Clan.

Given that Na’Vi’s first match at BLAST Premier Fall Groups will be against BIG, it’s hard to imagine them losing. If they win, they will have at least two opportunities to secure a top-two position in this group, so their chances of getting a good result are high.

Na’Vi’s global rank is currently 1st.

Virtus.pro

VP recently changed their roster, benching mir and signing electroNic. Arguably, this was a massive upgrade that will soon lead to improved results. At the moment, VP still need to work hard to integrate the new player. But it’s only a matter of time until the new roster starts getting top-two results.

In the past three months, VP finished 9th – 12th at IEM Dallas, 3rd – 4th at BLAST Premier Spring Final, and 3rd – 4th at the Esports World Cup. Globally, they are ranked 7th.

BIG

BIG are ranked 24th at the moment but many of the players have the potential to improve the team’s global rank significantly. With teams like BIG, a lot depends on current form and morale. TabseN probably knows this better than anyone else because he’s been here since 2017.

In 2024, BIG changed three players. This resulted in a lot of chaotic performances and the situation may continue for at least a few more months. Based on BIG’s results in the last three months, it’s hard to be optimistic about their chances.

Team Liquid

Liquid’s roster was finalized just three weeks ago, so it’s still too early to expect them to beat the likes of Na’Vi and VP. Sure, they might win a map here and there, but it’s unrealistic to think that they’ll win the group.

This will be an exciting competitor to watch because of jks’ signing. Ultimate, the team’s new AWP player, could also show us something spectacular.
