BLAST Premier Fall Groups is about to start. The tournament features 16 of the world’s best CS2 teams and six of them will qualify directly for BLAST Premier Fall Final. The other ten will get another opportunity at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown.
Because the group winners obtain a direct qualification, every team will try to win their group. But with most of the world’s top teams competing, only the best of the best can hope to achieve such a result.

Here are the teams that compete in group A of BLAST Premier Fall Groups:
- Team Spirit
- OG
- Complexity
- HEROIC
Out of these four teams, one is arguably much stronger than the rest. And it’s quite obvious which one it is. Team Spirit have had a great year so far, winning IEM Katowice, playing in the Grand Final of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade, and winning BLAST Premier Spring Final.
At IEM Dallas, they finished 3rd – 4th. At the Copenhagen Major and the Esports World Cup, they were 5th – 8th. Overall, this is one of the best teams in the world and their current rank is 3rd. On top of that, they also have donk and sh1ro, two of the strongest players in CS2. Both of them are easily in the top 10 at the moment.
Against an opponent like this, OG and Complexity have absolutely no chance of winning a best-of-three match. HEROIC might, but only if they perform better than usual while Spirit are completely out of shape, which is hard to believe.
The 2nd place team in this group advances to the play-in stage, where one victory would be sufficient to secure a spot at BLAST Premier Fall Final. That team will be either Complexity or HEROIC. Both of them are decent but the second one has slightly better chances of winning.
The problem is that Complexity had a poor performance at the Esports World Cup just two weeks ago. Despite winning DreamHack Summer just one month before, this latter tournament was a lot more similar to BLAST Premier than the first. It’s one thing to beat opponents from outside the top-20 and it’s another thing to play against the world’s best teams.
HEROIC are not at maximum strength at the moment because they had an important roster change less than three months ago. They’re probably still adjusting their play style but should be good enough to finish 2nd in this group.
