The Filipino organization has swapped two players from its previous iteration. The conflict between Gabbi and Abed also seems to have been resolved.

It looks like the CEO of Blacklist International had a busy week, signing two new players and resolving the issue between two of the team’s youngsters.

Gabbi and Abed had been close friends since they began their careers as professional Dota 2 players. They were together in Execration when both of them stood out and made a name for themselves. However, what was intended to be a little poke from Gabbi turned out to be a massive issue for Abed.

While playing a pub match against each other while streaming to a live audience, Gabbi was jokingly making fun of Abed. However, he crossed the line when he revealed to his viewers that Abed had dentures. Apparently, having dentures is one of Abed’s insecurities, and was meant to be kept a secret by Gabbi.

Being in the same bootcamp, Abed punched Gabbi in the face. At first, Gabbi thought it was a playful punch, but Abed did not stop jabbing. This caused a massive stir in the Blacklist camp, and the news quickly broke out. People thought the friendship between both players was over and that Gabbi would be kicked out of the team.

However, the issue was resolved. The CEO of Blacklist International, Tryke Gutierrez, issued both players a fine, and the players remain on the roster for the upcoming tournaments.

For the real news, Natsumi and Jaunnuel have replaced Raven and Mjz in the roster. Natsumi had just left the Geek Fam organization after the entire team disbanded, and has been staying in top shape after reaching 13,000 MMR.

Jaunnuel is a well-respected position five player and captain, as he has shown his capable leadership skills by taking Team SMG to The International 2022. He spent time playing with inyourdreaM and Karl in Team 747, a team that did not achieve much results.

The updated Blacklist International roster is as follows:

  • John “Natsumi-” Vargas
  • Abed “Abed” Yusop
  • Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte
  • Timothy “TIMS” Randrup
  • Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla
  • Kim “Dubu” Doo-young (Coach)

The previous iteration of the Blacklist International roster was a massive disappointment to the Filipino community, considering the reputable names residing in the roster. The squad only qualified for two notable events, ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 and the Elite League, in which they placed 9th – 10th and 15th – 16th, respectively.

The local fans are excited to see what the new version of Blacklist International can do. They will have to conquer the Southeast Asian region before they can take over the world.
