Black Ops 7: Fastest Way To Earn Point Blank Kills With Shotguns

fragster James Steward 28. November 2025

Point Blank kills have made their way back into Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. To get the Mastery Camos like Gold and Singularity, you have to make more than 200 Point Blank kills using shotguns. Treyarch eliminated the old headshot requirement and replaced it with Point Blanks, and that has drawn complaints from lots of players regarding the new requirement for extra effort to get those kills. While some call this a grind, others, those who understand the system and have their loadouts made for it, are having a smoother experience.

What About Point-Blank Kills in Black Ops 7?

A Point-Blank kill is defined as killing an enemy at the closest possible range. This means that the barrel of your gun is almost touching your enemy’s body. The game sometimes awards you one for a little further away, but the simple rule is: if you are so close that there is a chance of the enemy being hit by you, then it is a Point Blank for sure.

When it is the case, the medal “Point Blank” will be displayed on the screen. After practicing a little, you will be able to tell the distance required.

Perks

  • Perk 1: Gung-Ho: Lets you sprint and fire at the same time, which helps when closing distance.
  • Perk 2: Scavenger: Stops you from running out of ammo during long attempts.

Best Modes and Playstyle for Point Blank Farming

Recommended Playlists & Avoid

  • Nuketown 24/7: Small map, nonstop flights, many chances for close distance.
  • Objective modes (Hardpoint, Domination, Control): Players gather near objectives, giving you many close encounters.
  • Hardcore modes You get taken out fast and cannot reach close range often.

How To Earn Point Blank Kills Consistently

  • Use Smoke Grenades often: Throw them in lanes or on objectives, then push through them and fire when you reach the enemy.
  • Flank with purpose: Use side paths and map edges to get behind enemies.
  • Go ahead and slide or wall-jump when approaching an enemy character from the front.

  • You will have more time to do your thing before they spot you.
  • Occupy the corners and doorways.
  • Foes are coming literally into your shotgun range.
  • Switch the way, rotate the map and do not engage enemies in long-range fights.

Different maps and game modes may alter the tactic a little, but the main strategy remains the same: fast movement, stealth, vision blocking, and forcing close range. With the correct setup and practice, Point Blank kills become easier, and the shotgun camos come sooner.
