Immediately after Valve’s release of Dota 2 patch 7.37, the game’s meta started to change radically.
In the new and evolving meta, some position 4 heroes are much better than others and will help you to increase your MMR. In this guide, I will analyze three such heroes.
Enchantress

Valve
Enchantress is very strong at the moment thanks to her abilities, mana pool, mobility, and overall laning potential. This hero moves at 320 MS, gains 3.8 intelligence per level and is very hard to kill after level 6.
Untouchable makes Enchantress nearly immune to physical damage. She can still die from it, but only when surrounded by several heroes and disabled for at least several seconds. Otherwise, thanks to Nature’s Attendants, she will heal very quickly.
One of the things that good Enchantress players do during the first 10 minutes of the game is to steal good jungle creeps and then use them to harass the enemy safe lane. Many of these creeps have powerful abilities that can be utilized multiple times.
It may not seem like much but in the early game, this kind of pressure is often all you need to win your lane.
As the game progresses and Ench buys items like Dragon Lance, her damage potential increases significantly. Impetus deals 20% distance damage and this is pure damage. That 20%, assuming that the total distance is 750 by the time the projectile lands, translates into 150 pure damage.
This ability has a 0s cooldown, so it can be used as a basic attack as many times as you want, as long as you have the mana for it. But it only costs 50 mana, so that won’t be an issue.
Enchantress has a natural attack range of 575. Dragon Lance brings it up to 725. With the right neutral item, you can increase it to above 800.
Lich

Valve
Lich is an excellent position 4 hero because his abilities allow him to do amazing things, not just when ganking but also when team fighting.
Using Frost Blast, Lich can slow a target’s movement speed by 25% and its attack speed by 60. The ability also deals 360 damage to the main target as well as 200 AoE damage. The debuffs last for 4s.
Frost Shield allows Lich to give an ally 60% damage reduction for 8s. Nearby enemies get slowed by 25% and damaged each second for a small amount (60). This makes it difficult for melee opponents to chase you or your allies. The only problem with this ability is its long cooldown: 15s.
Sinister Gaze drains 24% of an enemy hero’s mana and keeps him immobilized for 2s. Against creeps, the mana drain is 48% and the duration is 4s. Creeps also take 1000 damage during the 4s channeling.
Chain Frost allows Lich to wreak havoc in team fights or even against a single opponent if he has Ice Spire available. This ability is gained by purchasing Aghanim’s Shard or receiving it for killing a Tormentor.
Elder Titan

Valve
Elder Titan is a hero that requires excellent map awareness and APM. But if you’re good enough to control him optimally, this hero will destroy an entire enemy team and provide great advantages in the laning phase.
Echo Stomp puts enemies to sleep for 2s – 4.4s. That’s enough time to facilitate a complete surround if your team is nearby.
Astral Spirit allows Elder Titan to buff himself immensely, gaining speed, damage, and armor for 10s.
Natural Order ruins the armor and magic resistance of his enemies. The radius is 350 and is centered both around the hero (for the armor reduction debuff) and his Astral Spirit (for the magic resistance debuff).
Using his ultimate, Elder Titan will usually deal massive amounts of damage. This ability can easily hit several enemy heroes and remove about a third of their HP.
