Although ice-type Pokémon are not numerous in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, several have somewhat overpowered capabilities. Best Ice-Type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends
1. Glaceon

Glaceon ranks S-Tier in Ice-type Pokémon. It has extremely high Special Attack, which allows it to hit for solid damage with Ice-type special attacks.

Where to Find / How to Evolve
Glaceon is obtainable in Pokémon Legends: Z-A by using an Ice Stone on Eevee or rare as an Alpha Pokémon in Wild Zone 20 after finishing the main story.

2. Mega Froslass

A non-mega Froslass is acceptable, but the mega is what people truly come for – a decent Speed stat and a great special attack are just a bonus.

Where to Find / How to Evolve
You can obtain a Froslass in Pokémon Legends: Z-A by evolving a female Snorunt with a Dawn Stone. Snorunt can be found in Wild Zone 12. The Dawn stone is available by purchase at the Stone Emporium later in the game. Additionally, after the main story, it is possible to just find Froslass in Wild Zone 20.
To mega Evolve Froslass, you will need the Froslassite, which you can obtain by defeating the Rogue Mega Froslass in Main Mission 27.
3. Mega Glalie

Glalie is an A-Tier Pokemon mostly because it has Mega evolution which has a nice balance of offensive (physical and special) and utility.

- Glalie can be obtained in Pokémon Legends: Z-A by evolving a Snorunt normally. Snorunt can be found in Wild Zone 12. Snorunt will evolve at level 42 to Glalie.
- You can also buy the Glalitite from Quasartico Inc. Mega Shard Exchange for 240 Mega Shards.
4. Mega Abomasnow

Why It’s Viable
Mega Abomasnow is bulky and has attacking power on both the physical and special attacking side. The 4× weakness to Fire is a very real issue, but don’t let that detract from its strengths. Mega Abomasnow has an incredibly high base stat total for an Ice-type Mega.

- Mega Abomasnow’s Base Stat Total 594
- Stats are: HP 90 / Atk 132 / Def 105 / SpA 132 / SpD 105 / Speed 30
Build / Moveset
- Nature: Modest (boost Sp. Atk) or Calm (boost Sp. Def)
- Moveset: Blizzard, Giga Drain (or Giga Drain-type coverage), Earth Power, Ice Beam are the most common picks.
Location / Evolution
- Snover can be found Wild Zone 12. It evolves into Abomasnow at level 40. You can also find an Alpha Abomasnow in the Wild Zone 12.
- You can obtain a Mega Abomasnow by purchacing the Abomasite from Vernal Avenue’s Stone Emporium for 50,00 dollars.
5. Avalugg

What Makes It Strong:
Avalugg does not Mega Evolve, but serves a defensive purpose because of its staggering Defense stat (184). Additionally, it performs well as a physical tank role.
Base Stats & Role:
- Avalugg has a Base Stat total of 514.
- Stats are: HP 95 / Atk 127 / Def 184 / SpA 34 / SpD 36 / Speed 38.
Build/Moveset:
- Nature: Impish (+Def, -SpA) or Relaxed (+Def, -Spe) is preferred.
- Moves: It can use Curse (to help bolster both Defense and Attack stats), Recover or another recovery (if it supports that move), Icicle Crash (physical Ice STAB), Body Press or Avalanche, and a coverage move.
Where to Obtain:
You can get Bergmite in Wild Zone 12 in Pokémon Legends: Z-A succeeding Main Mission 14. You can evolve Bergmite into Avalugg, at level 37. The Alpha version is in the Wild Zone, Wild Zone 12.
6. Vanilluxe

Reasons for Consideration
Vanilluxe is underutilized, but it still has its place as a special Ice attacker. Additionally, it learns Freeze-Dry, which is a perfect counter against Water-types.

- Vanilluxe has a total base stat of 535.
- Its Stats are: HP 71 / Atk 95 / Def 85 / SpA 110 / SpD 95 / Speed 79
Build / Moveset
- Nature: Modest (+Sp. Atk) or Timid (+Speed) is generally preferred.
- Moveset: Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam or Blizzard, Icy Wind (for utility), and coverage move.
Where to Find It
To find it, you need to catch a Vanillite, which evolves into Vanillish at level 35. Vanillish evolves into Vanilluxe at level 47. Vanillite can be found in Wild Zone 7.

In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the pool of Ice-types is limited, but there are a few standouts.
