To survive in Battlefield 6, you need to control your positioning, adapt to constantly changing threats, and master the equipment the game provides. Situational awareness and disciplined engagement are just as important, if not more, than pure shooting skill. Success comes from reading the battlefield accurately, anticipating enemy movements, and reacting faster than they can.

Master positioning from the start
Your survival rate depends very much on where you choose to fight. Staying close to cover is important, not only for blocking the incoming bullets but also for breaking the enemy’s line of sight fully. In urban maps, corners, rubble piles, and low walls let you peek without exposing the whole of your body. On open ground, not cresting hills in a straight way; instead, come from one side or use smoke for hiding movement.
A strong position is one that gives you more than one way to escape. If you are pinned down, falling back to another cover point can reset the fight in your favor. Many players are dying because they win the first exchange but having nowhere for retreat when enemy reinforcement is coming.
Use suppression and distraction
Victory does not always come from just outshooting the enemies. Suppressive fire is keeping them in cover, giving time for flank or to reposition. In squads, one player can keep heads down while others moving in.
Distraction is also much useful. Shooting in one way or using gadgets like decoys can be pulling enemy’s attention from the real attack. On big maps, coordinated distraction can make openings that can turn a losing fight into win.
Adapt to the game phase

The pace and danger level is changing when the match is going, so playing the same style always is a mistake.
- Early game: Focus for reaching a strong defensive place and getting vehicles or equipment before enemy. Avoid unneeded fights when you moving to better spots.
- Mid game: Break enemy formation, control choke points, and use gadgets for blocking routes. Watch out for groups of enemies who can be easy explosive targets.
- Late game: When objectives are falling, expect desperate enemy pushing. Keep the squad close enough for revives but not too close for risking more deaths at once.
Manage resources under pressure
Ammo and gadgets are going out faster than you expect. Always resupply when passing a point, even if not low yet. Give medical to squadmates in better positions. Pull allies into cover before revive so as not to lose two lives in one.
Play the objective smartly
Surviving does not mean avoiding the objective; it means approaching it more wisely. When attacking, clear the area first. Defenders often wait outside to punish overconfident attackers. When defending, avoid camping directly to reduce grenade risk.
Leverage vehicles and air support

Vehicles can change battle if used correctly but also can be easily destroyed if not. Use with infantry. In the gunner seat, suppress enemy infantry. Air strikes are best when followed quick by ground push.
Anticipate enemy behavior
Foresight is keeping you alive. Watch minimap and kill feed for flanks. If you died from the same angle before, trap it or guard it next time. Using the enemy’s own habits against them is a sure way to survive.
