Battlefield 6 Season 2 delayed to February 17

Publisher Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios have confirmed that Season 2 of Battlefield 6 and Battlefield: RedSec has been officially delayed.

The second season was originally scheduled to begin on January 21, but will now launch on February 17, pushing the start back by nearly a month. According to EA, the delay is intended to allow the team more time to incorporate player feedback and further refine the upcoming seasonal content.

“We want to take additional time to polish Season 2 and properly integrate community feedback,” the developers stated.

Season 1 extended with new update and bonus content

As a result of the delay, Season 1 will be extended. A new update is set to go live on January 20, introducing several additions designed to keep players engaged during the extended period.

The update will include:

• New weekly challenges
• A special bonus progression track
• An extension of the Season 1 Battle Pass

The bonus track allows players to unlock extra customization options and XP boosts, giving additional incentives to keep playing ahead of Season 2’s launch.

Platforms and reception

Both Battlefield 6 and Battlefield: RedSec are available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

At Fragster, Battlefield 6 received a score of 88, with particular praise for its multiplayer experience. While the singleplayer campaign was criticized, the review highlighted the strength of the multiplayer modes, military atmosphere, tight gunplay, and large-scale destruction as standout elements that make the game worth dozens of hours of play.
