EA has finally revealed key details of the much-awaited Battlefield 6, revealing its official release date to be October 10, 2025. The game will release only on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, skipping aging consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One, and even not releasing on Switch 2. This is the first time the series drops full support for previous-gen entirely.
It was announced in EA’s multiplayer presentation on July 31, and Battlefield 6 returns with plenty of old features fans demanded, such as a full campaign, multiplayer classics like Conquest and Domination, crossplay from day one, and a newer destruction system that’s more realistic. The gameplay appears more realistic and grounded this time around compared to the past.

Loadout System Testing
The beta is gonna test two versions of how loadouts work:
- Class-Locked: Where certain weapons can be used only by the designated class (e.g., Assault, Recon, etc.)
- Flexible Loadouts: Where it is possible to play with any weapon using any class, just like what Battlefield 2042 established later on..
Following the lackluster launch of Battlefield 2042, which received flak for no campaign and glitched gameplay, Battlefield 6 is attempting to regain the reputation of the series. EA wishes to return to the roots and provide a more realistic Battlefield, with its classic solo campaign, Multiplayer without any unnecessary addons, a Realistic destruction engine and physics, and better gunplay and serious soldier equipment
