Battlefield 6 preload guide for all platforms

Battlefield 6, also called Battlefield 2042, now is available for preload on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox before the official release. Preloading let players download the game earlier, so they can start play right away when it launch. The beta client already up for download on different platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, EA App, PlayStation Store, and Xbox Store.

Preloading on PC

To preload on PC, one must open the platform of choice, Steam, Epic Games Store, or EA App, and search for Battlefield 6. Players need pre-purchase the game if not done already. After that, choose the preload option for start downloading the beta client. The download size is around 39.24 GB on Steam.

Preloading on PlayStation 5

On PlayStation 5, open PlayStation Store and search Battlefield 6. If require, pre-purchase must be done. Then, go into Library, find Battlefield 6, and click download. The PS5 version take a bit smaller size, about 33.91 GB.

Preloading on Xbox Series X|S

For Xbox, open Xbox Store, search Battlefield 6, and if needed pre-purchase first. After, select preload to begin download the beta client. The Xbox version download size is about 37.56 GB.

Preload Availability and Beta Dates

Preloading for Battlefield 6 begin August 4, 2025, at 8:00 AM PT (8:30 PM IST). The beta is planned to run across two weekend periods. Early access is from August 7 until August 8, 2025, and open beta will then happen August 9–10 and again on August 14–17, 2025. Those who preloaded can join the beta instantly during these dates.

Early Access via Twitch Drops

Players who miss early access still can obtain beta code from Twitch Drops. By watching stream with “Drops Enabled” for at least 30 minutes between August 7 and 8, 2025, viewers may get a code for PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S.
