Battlefield 6 Class Guide: Best Skills and Gadgets for Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon

fragster James Steward 7. August 2025

Battlefield 6 revives the four well known class types, but each now with a little bit more modern flexibility to them. Each class role provides the players some special purpose in combat, by influencing how they play using guns, traits, and tools. Whichever way you go you are contributing to the win by making which ever class you choose play out looking entirely different.

All Battlefield 6 Classes Explained

Assault Class

The Assault class mainly focuses on aggressive fights from close or mid-range. Players can carry two primary weapons, though the second one got to be a shotgun, carbine, or DMR. Assault rifles are still the main pick here since they let players swap faster and shoot quicker out of sprint. You also take less damage from falling, and there’s this adrenaline injector gadget that gives a short boost when needed.

There’s an active skill that highlights enemies nearby based on sound, which helps a lot in intense moments. You’ll get access to the Frontliner path later, and that one makes healing quicker and improves your gun handling while moving. After the beta, Commanding Presence and the deploy beacon (used to be just for Recon) are going to be added to Assault too.

Engineer Class

Engineers are better when it comes to dealing with vehicles or handling tough situations. They mostly use SMGs or PDWs, and those got solid hip-fire performance. The main gadget’s the repair tool, it now shows a visual meter while fixing stuff. Engineers are more durable against explosions, and they can activate a skill to repair faster than usual.

There’s two main specializations to pick from. Anti-Armor makes rockets hit harder and stops enemy vehicles from healing. Combat Engineer, on the other hand, lets you heal your own team’s vehicles passively and spot mines while inside one.

Support Class

Support is the only one who can revive all teammates, not just your squad. They get to use LMGs without having to slow down and can revive faster with upgraded defibs. Their supply gadget is better now too, giving both health and ammo, so you don’t run out easy during long fights.

Their passive trait helps you drag and revive quicker, which comes in clutch when your team is pushing. Combat Medic gives health after reviving, while Fire Support helps you control mounted guns better and pass out more ammo.

Recon Class

Recon is just about range and awareness. Sniper rifles of this class receive steadier aim, quicker rechambering between shots, and improve duration of keeping the breath. Enemies are automatically spotted when you are scoped in. Moreover, the use of motion sensors and UAV makes the search of the enemies rather helpful regardless of your location on the map.

Sniper path prohibits the possibility of healing marked enemies and does not give the possibility of placing a headshot vengeful kill that cannot be raised. More stealth and take down-oriented is Pathfinder, which is in beta. Thereafter, the Spec Ops tree will help more to be unpredictable and undetectable.

Progression and Specialization in Class

Perks get improved with good performance in battle according to each class. These result in the skill trees and the class traits to specializing and play better. With the right upgrades, you even can adjust to whatever you require that round with whatever your team is going to call.

Settling in the way these classes are structured is quite important in good teamwork and improved outcomes. Battlefield 6 will reward those who make intelligent choices in class and how their load out fits into the larger playscale.
