CS:GO squad Bad News Eagles have announced that they have decided to form their own esports organization of the same name. This decision was made after the team spent six months looking for a new place following the departure from BLINK.
Prior to forming Bad News Eagles, the team represented the BLINK organization, which, decided not to extend the contracts of the team’s captains at the beginning of the 2022 season. That led to the departure of the remaining players and a coach, who started playing under the Bad News Eagles tag. Then, after half a year of being without an esports club, the team, mostly consisting of players from Kosovo (except Rigon “rigoN” Gashi, who is from Switzerland), decided to take matters into their own hands and found a new org.
Bad News Eagles were able to climb up to #18 in the world rankings after they managed to qualify for the Legends Stage at the PGL Antwerp Major. Then in the Challengers Stage, they dismantled Eternal Fire, Imperial and MIBR, advancing to the final Legends Stage, where they lost to Copenhagen Flames and FaZe Clan. The team left the event after losing to Imperial, which was a rematch of their previous encounter.

Bad News Eagles stated on their Twitter account:

“For us as a team, salary is not the most important factor in this decision but the staff that an organization has and how they can help us develop ourselves in and out of the game. Another really important factor is the opportunity to boot camp regularly without issue, this for us is where visas are also very important.”

Bad News Eagles lineup:

  • Dionis “sinnopsyy” Budeci
  • Genc “gxx-” Kolgeci
  • Flatron “juanflatroo” Halimi
  • Sener “SENER1” Mahmuti
  • Rigon “rigoN” Gashi
  • Klesti “stikle-” Kola (coach)

The team will next compete in ESL Challenger League Season 42. Their first match is scheduled for September 7 against UNGENTIUM.

Furthermore, Bad News Eagles have earned themselves a place in the IEM Road to Rio Europe RMR thanks to their victory in the Major in Belgium, joining FaZe and Ninjas in Pyjamas in Group A. The qualifying tournament for the Major will start on October 4 on the Mediterranean island of Malta.

The future will show how long Bad News Eagles can exist on their own and whether they can find sponsors to provide their players with everything they need to not switch to other esports clubs.
