B Site, the creators of the Flashpoint CSGO league, have now announced their venture into VALORANT esports. They will host the last Ignition Series event for North America. ‘Pop Flash’ has apparently been in the works for several months now, giving the company a solid foundation aside from Counter-Strike.

Flashpoint League debuted to mixed reviews. The league had attempted to lure the biggest CSGO teams into an exclusive relationship, but were beaten by ESL Pro League, who got most Top 20 teams under their wings. On top of that, Valve made their stance towards exclusivity rules very clear. They wouldn’t allow for organizers to make such restrictions, which is why there won’t be any exclusive events anytime soon.

Ever since the Season 1 Finals took place online in April, the organizers have remained relatively silent about a second season. Now, it appears as though they have been patiently waiting to announce another project. ‘Pop Flash’ will serve as the conclusion to RIOT’s Ignition Series, at least for North America.

From a production standpoint, Flashpoint and B Site have definitely got the proficiency to deliver a solid product. Most importantly, they can use all of the preceding events as inspirations and polish their broadcast even more.

Four renowned esports personalities will lead us through the action. Christine “Potter” Chi has been featured on many DreamHack Open panels, as well as the inaugural Flashpoint league. She is joined by Alex “Mauisnake” Ellenberg, who accompanied her on these broadcasts. Daniel “ddk” Kapadia is joined by Erik “DoA “Lonnquist, who has cast Overwatch League most recently.

POP FLASH WILL RALLY TOGETHER NA’S FINEST TEAMS

The league sees the return of SK Telecom T1, TSM, Gen.G and Sentinels. In the FaZe Clan Invitational, Team SoloMid were able to set themselves on top. The Sentinels narrowly conceded the Grand Finals victory to TSM, but not before dismantling Immortals in the Lower Bracket finals. T1 had their arguably worst event to date, exiting on 7-8th place. The FaZe Clan Invitational saw them unable to compete with the rest of North America’s top rosters, which doesn’t bode well for this event.

Pop Flash will commence on August 26 and crown its victor on August 30. The teams have plenty of time to prepare and learn from past mistakes. Hopefully, we will see all teams deliver their best performance to date.
