As teams punch their tickets to Paris one by one, the gathering for the London main event continues to hold great promise. Naturally, fans would be scrambling to save seats in the O2 arena for League of Legends Worlds 2024 Championship Final, the ultimate battle between the best in the tournament.
Tickets are already set to go on sale for the final, which will be on November 2 at the O2 Arena. For fans eager to witness this epic battle in person, here’s all the details about securing your seat spots through AXS. the official ticket-selling platform for the event.
Release Dates
The League of Legends dev company Riot Games announced a two-wave system for the Worlds 2024 Final’s ticket release. This system allows for fans to have multiple chances of getting tickets before they sell out. For both waves, exclusive pre-sales were held for O2 and Virgin Media customers as well as Mastercard holders.
Wave 1
The exclusive pre-sale for O2 and Virgin Media customers started on August 14, 2024. The day after that, August 15, was the start of pre-sale for Mastercard holders and The O2 venue members. Meanwhile, the general public waited until August 16 before getting to lay their hands on their ticket to the finals.
Wave 2 Initial Dates
The second wave of ticket selling started on October 2, 2024 with the second Priority Tickets sale for O2 and Virgin Media customers, followed by that for Mastercard holders on October 3. General on-sale tickets, like in the first wave, would have then been available on October 4.
However, Riot Games had postponed the sale of tickets to October 11 due to “significant bot activity”. They claimed to have detected botting and scalping 9 hours before the Wave 2 pre-sales. Tickets were resold by scalpers on reselling sites for up to 10x their original price on AXS, taking advantage of the previous Worlds ticket system.
Riot Games fixed the issue by requiring players to verify their accounts through the “Worlds Final Ticket Eligibility” page. After being verified, players will receive through email a “one-time use code and a link to a private AXS sale page”. However, it’s important to note that the verification only enables the purchase of, and does not guarantee, tickets.
Wave 2 Final Dates
After repairing the error, Riot Games finally announced the return of the general ticket sales for the Worlds 2024 Final. By October 10, fans should have already received their verification. This last ticket sale will start on October 11, 2 PM BST.
