On Tuesday, June 3, the first narrative expansion for Atomfall will be released, called Wicked Isle.
The expansion adds a new location, new characters, enemies, weapons, skills, items, and multiple new endings to the game. Wicked Isle is specifically inspired by horror elements.
Wicked Isle is set on Midsummer Island, which players can reach by talking to the boatman in Wyndham Village. The island is located close to the Windscale nuclear power plant, which is why the level of infection there is higher than on the mainland.
New weapons include a new bow, the Blunderbuss shotgun, and the Beekeepper’s Staff. The metal detector can also be upgraded to find even more loot.
The expansion is part of the Deluxe Edition of the game, although a Deluxe Upgrade Pack can also be purchased and the DLC can be purchased separately for $20 (price in euros is not yet known at the time of writing).
Fallout: Wasteland 3 was released last March for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and PC. The game is set five years after a nuclear disaster in northern England. Although it is a fictional story, the game is inspired by a real nuclear disaster that occurred in northern England in 1957. At that time, a fire broke out in a plutonium factory. In the game, the consequences are understandably even worse, and five years after a nuclear disaster, we see what the world has become.
The survival action game focuses on single-player gameplay. Players explore a post-nuclear environment and must craft, trade, and search for materials while fighting to survive. The world is filled with mutated creatures, cults, and dangerous factions.
Incidentally, the creators recently announced that a sequel and spin-off of the game are being considered. “What does this mean for the future of Atomfall? Well… we’re working on DLC. We’re also talking about what we want to do in terms of sequels. Or will they be spin-offs?”
