ASUS ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X Pricing Leaked Online Before Launch

Some pricing information about the upcoming ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds may have come out early online. The devices that are being made by ASUS in partnership with Xbox are set to launch during the holiday season in 2025. But now there is a chance that the expected prices were accidentally revealed through product details showing up on Google.

Google Search Might Have Shown Prices Too Soon

The pricing was first noticed by the Spanish site 3DJuegos. It seems the listings appeared for a short time on Google Search through product metadata, possibly from the ASUS official website. The ROG Xbox Ally was listed at 599 euros while the Xbox Ally X was marked at 899 euros. That would be close to 699 and 1049 dollars in the US. There has been no official word from ASUS or Microsoft yet, but the leak looked like it might have been a mistake in publishing.

Before this leak, there were already some talks that the Xbox Ally handhelds could be priced over $800. That would be quite higher than other gaming devices like the Steam Deck LCD, which costs around $400 for the base model.

Xbox and ASUS Team Up for Handheld Gaming

The ROG Xbox Ally project was officially confirmed in June 2025 after ASUS shared a teaser video back in April. At the Xbox Games Showcase, Xbox president Sarah Bond introduced both versions of the device and said they would run a special version of Windows 11. This version will include a full screen Xbox focused layout that brings together services like Xbox Game Pass and Battle net into one place.

Earlier, it was believed that Xbox might make its own portable console but those plans were reportedly stopped. Instead, they teamed up with ASUS and AMD to work on handhelds like the Ally. A few weeks after the June reveal, Bond and AMD CEO Lisa Su announced a wider partnership to help build future Xbox platforms, including consoles, cloud tech, and other hardware.

Hardware Specifications

The two handhelds are built for different kinds of players. The regular ROG Xbox Ally has

  • AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip
  • 16 GB RAM
  • 512 GB SSD storage

While the Xbox Ally X comes with

  • AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip
  • 24 GB RAM
  • 1 TB SSD storage

The base model seems to focus on giving a balanced experience and better battery life. On the other hand, the Ally X will be more powerful and meant for smoother visuals and multitasking.

Prices Match Older ASUS Handhelds

The prices that got leaked are not far from what ASUS charged for its earlier devices. The original ROG Ally came out in 2023 with similar specs and was priced around 699 euros. Then, in 2024, ASUS released the Ally X upgrade, which kept the same chip but added more RAM and a bigger battery for 899 euros.

The 2025 models do more than upgrade hardware. They also bring in the Xbox software features for the first time which creates a full console like experience in a portable format.

Both devices are planned to be released in late 2025. After that, Xbox is expected to launch its next big console in 2027. Reports suggest development on that is still moving fast. Microsoft is also working on making Windows 11 better suited for handheld gaming, which fits in with the Xbox Ally plans.

While the leaked prices do seem to follow older pricing trends, they are still unconfirmed for now. More official news will likely arrive in the coming months.
