After over a month of excitement at the CCT South Europe Series #4, Astralis was crowned tournament champion after defeating Eternal Fire 2-1 in the Grand Final. As a result, the Danish team takes home $22,000 in prize money.

Unfortunately for teams like ALTERNATE aTTaX and Websterz, who fought from the tournament’s first day to be at the top of the podium, the bigger teams ultimately made it to the top.

However, it is worth highlighting the performance of Endpoint, who were very close to being eliminated in the first rounds of the tournament. Still, then they recovered and were able to reach the semifinals of the tournament.

Astralis crowned champion of CCT South Europe Series #4 after beating Eternal Fire

Astralis and Eternal Fire were invited to the CCT South Europe Series #4 playoffs. On the Danish side, they managed to leave Iron Branch in the round of 16, Aurora Gaming in the quarterfinals, and OG in the semifinals.

However, the Turks had a somewhat easier road, as they crushed 2-0 the three opponents they faced, B8 in the round of 16, Into The Breach in the quarterfinals, and Endpoint in the semifinals.

There is no doubt that this grand final looked to be exciting, and it was.

Astralis vs. Eternal Fire – Grand Final Recap

Both teams managed to show a great level of play in each of the three maps they played. However, the experience and the high level of play demonstrated by Benjamin “blameF” Bremer came to the fore to lead his team to a 2-1 victory.

It all started in Vertigo, Eternal Fire’s map pick, where we enjoyed a really exciting match from start to finish. Astralis started very strong on their CT side, partially winning the first half with a score of 9-6.

However, the Turks reacted phenomenally at the change of sides and got ahead on the scoreboard 14-13. In the end, Astralis managed to prevent Eternal Fire’s comeback, and they managed to win by 16-13.

In the second map, Overpass, we watched as Eternal Fire crushed in every sense of the word Astralis in their map pick. After a resounding 11-4 on their CT side, Eternal Fire took advantage of the push and confidence to close the map with an excellent 16-6 victory.

Astralis destroy EF in Inferno

Finally, Astralis managed to strike back on Inferno thanks to Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, who finished with a 1.44 Rating and an ADR of 90.7. The Danes started well on their T-side and got an excellent 10-5 partial victory. Then, as the sides switched sides, they put up a great defense to win the remaining six rounds to take the 16-7 victory.
