Their momentum continued on Astralis’ map pick, Overpass. Like in game 1, they were exceptionally effective in T-side, securing 10 rounds in the first-half alone. Hence, their commanding lead decisively took the second match win and closed out the series.

In their exclusive interview with Bo3.gg, the captain Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen shared his insight about his team’s performance. The in-game leader acknowledged how inconsistent their plays were, referencing their earlier loss to NRG. Also, HooXi admitted that he was struggling individually which affected his mindset during the matches.

Still, he had good words and praises for his teammates after seeing the improvements from the first game. According to him, they had better communication and initiative the second time around which allowed them to take a sweet victory. HooXi shared that the team took “a step down and then a step back up” in that sequence of events. 

International Roster Continues Integration Process

Beyond their tough competitors, Astralis also faced challenges in their transition to an international lineup. It is significantly difficult for the team as phzy and Ryu’s addition led the team to switch communication language. They now have to use English which was the first time for their organization. 

Moreover, HooXi shared that they are currently focusing on learning to play the same style and building chemistry. They are hoping to get everyone on the same page as it is a long-term project towards progression and consistency.
