Summary:
  • The Expedition Project enables veteran players to start fresh and earn exclusive rewards.
  • Originally set to release on December 15th, the Expedition Project was delayed due to some technical problems.

Embark Studios is delaying the release of the first ARC Raiders Expedition Project to a later date. While this isn’t exactly a huge overhaul, they did take a short breather while identifying an issue in the game. Players grinding for their permanent buffs were panicking because they had only a few days left to prepare for the wipe. But now, they have extra days to gather their resources and to prepare for the high-stakes wipe coming up.

What is ARC Raiders Expedition Project?

ARC Raider’s Expedition Project is a volunteer-based way for players who have reached level twenty (20) and higher to reset their progression by taking a deadly and dangerous journey outside of the Rust Belt. The player will lose their current Raider character but gain access to unique and long-lasting rewards and prestige in-game.

The Expedition Projects are community-based events that take place in cycles of approximately 8 weeks and contain 6 phases. The first portion is gathering the materials to build the caravan, which will lead to building of the massive expedition vehicle.

Delay Announcement

As previously stated in the announcement on the games X account and their blog, Embark Studios is currently delaying the ARC Raiders Expedition Project by 2 days for a very slight reason. The date change was originally scheduled to start on December 15, 2025, but will now begin on December 17, 2025 due to a tunnel delay.

This 6-day window (ending on December 22nd) will be used as a countdown until the optional wipe. This allows players with the commitment of this progression to earn exclusive rewards.

Reasons for the Delay

Embark Studios has pushed back the launch of the ARC Raiders Expedition Project by a couple of days. This was because of a little glitch with the tunnels, which they have called a “small technical issue”.

A few of the more experienced players weren’t particularly happy with the delay since it threw off their preparedness. But overall, this delay should help out the rest of the community by eliminating the potential for problems that could result in players doing incomplete expeditions and possibly missing out on valuable bonuses.

Impact on Players

This change will help casual gamers who play 5-10 hours a week deal with the pain of getting their progress wiped out. So instead of feeling frustrated about rushing to get ready for the wipe, they can renew their excitement about playing.

More than likely, there will be some veterans who may feel a little bit frustrated after waiting to be ready. But this change will give the newer players a chance to get in on the fun of contributing their materials to the ongoing phases of the community project.

Conclusion

ARC Raiders’ Expedition Project delay seems like a curveball. However, Embark is actually showing mercy by giving players extra time to prepare. If you’re not sure yet, it’s okay! There won’t be any wipe of your progress for those players who are not ready to jump in. But those who are willing to go in now will unlock some super buffs that will remain after the reset. This shows how much Arc Raiders relies on these risky loops and combines grinding with glory to keep it fresh.
