Apex pros are unhappy about all ALGS 2023 LANs taking place in London

As mentioned in a previous article, the ALGS moved entirely to London to play all LAN events in this British city.

There were many expectations around the official announcement of the ALGS, where it was stated that the first Major would be played in London. But then confusion and disagreements began.

Players’ disagreement with this decision

It had been rumored for several weeks that the first LAN event of 2023 would be played in London, but no one expected the UK to host all three ALSG LAN events next year.

However, this was not what was officially announced by the ALGS in confirming the venue for the Split One qualifier, which will be played in early February 2023. Nevertheless, professional players were quick to denounce the decision to host three separate events for a global series in one location.

And the players argue that the problem or their disagreement is not because of the city. On the contrary, London is a spectacular city and is a worthy place to hold an ALGS LAN, as several UK representatives will play these tournaments. The problem is that they are all played in the same place.

As shown in the Tweet above, ImperiaHal expresses all the opportunities the game loses by being held in one place.

Gamers and content creators want a LAN event to be held in Japan

Both players and content creators have expressed that they wish for a LAN event to be held in Japan. But there are still many things to be resolved in Japan regarding costs and restrictions due to Covid-19.

Remember that Japan is still home to one of the world’s most passionate Apex fan bases and players.

In addition, the recent announcement that VCT will be coming to Japan by 2023 has raised concerns. And even the success Riot has had in creating a solid player base in this game in this Asian country.

It’s no secret that APAC North has some of the best Apex Legends teams and a great fan base. But, the ALGS will only hold LAN events in Europe and North America.

It is not only the players who are dissatisfied with this situation

Other regions directly linked to the ALGS disagree entirely with all LANs being held in London.

North America, without a doubt, has the most popular teams in the game and successfully hosted last year’s ALGS Championship.

On the other hand, DarkZero, who is the winner of the last two ALGS LANs, is from Australia. This is another region that also sees no indication that they want to host a tournament on their territory. This is besides the fact that their teams have had powerful performances in international play.

This decision is likely based on the need to resolve the problems that arose at last year’s ALGS LAN, where visa problems prevented many players from traveling to the event.
