EA Entertainment head Laura Miele has recently stated that Apex Legends is being sought after for a live-action or animated version. In her interview with Variety, she states that the game world already has numerous untold stories, and EA is highly enthusiastic to learn how it can make it work. The project remains unconfirmed for the time being, but some talks are already underway.

Why the Timing Matters Now

Seasonal updates and cinematic trailers may be considered classic attributes of the game, but few of the players who take part in it are familiar with the whole history of the Legends. Miele cited that fans could not know everything about the origin story, and a TV adaptation could shed more light on these archers.

The Challenges and Openings

Big character cast: Apex Legends has just so many characters, and each of them is a part of the even more extensive lore of Titanfall, so it is bound to be written properly to satisfy the fans, the new readers, and the watchers.

Brand respect: EA made clear that any adaptation should keep the value and identity of the brand, so they will be careful how it’s made.

Talking About the Lore

Miele referenced the game’s extensive lore as one of the reasons EA thinks an Apex Legends film or television adaptation would do well, telling Variety that “[Players] don’t have all the backstory, the history, and there’s just rich worlds and rich history with these characters and these Legends that can come to life through linear media and partnerships.”

“We’re pretty motivated to do that, and doing it in a way that really respects and upholds the brand and the franchise,” Miele said.
