Apex Legends Marked Turns Bloodhound Into a Team Hunter

fragster John Parker 30. July 2026

Apex Legends: Marked launches on August 4, 2026, with one of the largest Bloodhound updates in the Legend’s history. The new season overhauls the Recon character’s ability kit while also buffing Loba and Rampart, rebuilding parts of World’s Edge and introducing Corrupted attachments.

The update does not add a new Legend. Instead, Respawn is focusing on existing characters, weapon systems and the speed at which squads find useful loot.

Bloodhound Receives a Complete Ability Rework

Bloodhound’s updated kit moves the character away from occasional scans and toward continuous tracking. Enemies now leave glowing trails while moving, giving Bloodhound more information when following opponents through buildings or across open areas.

White Ravens receive improved range and can be activated more quickly. Bloodhound’s Tactical also provides additional snapshot scans after the initial pulse, allowing squads to track changes in enemy positions instead of relying on a single reveal.

The most dramatic change affects the Ultimate. Its deployed device cloaks Legends who enter the active area. Players reportedly remain hidden for 12 seconds after leaving its range, which could help entire squads reposition, escape or begin an attack without being immediately seen.

The main Bloodhound changes are:

  • Moving enemies leave visible trails that Bloodhound can follow
  • White Ravens become faster and easier to activate
  • Tactical scans create additional enemy snapshots
  • The Ultimate can cloak Bloodhound’s teammates

Bloodhound is changing from a straightforward scanner into a Legend who can create aggressive opportunities for the entire squad.

The strength of the cloak will depend on its visibility rules, duration and possible counters. Those details will determine whether Bloodhound becomes a priority pick in Ranked and professional play.

Loba and Rampart Gain Faster Tools

Loba and Rampart are also receiving buffs in Marked, although neither character is being rebuilt as extensively as Bloodhound.

Loba’s Black Market receives a shorter cooldown, while her Tactical travels faster and covers more distance. The changes should make it easier for her to escape dangerous positions or join teammates without spending as much time exposed.

Rampart will move faster while firing Sheila. Her Amped Walls also build more quickly and can absorb additional damage. This gives her more freedom to use defensive cover during active fights instead of preparing every position far in advance.

Legend Main Marked changes
Bloodhound Full kit rework, persistent tracking and team cloak
Loba Faster Tactical and reduced Black Market cooldown
Rampart Faster Sheila movement and stronger Amped Walls

These adjustments may help both Legends compete in a Meta that frequently rewards mobility and quick repositioning. However, their final impact cannot be judged until players test the updated values in live matches.

World’s Edge Gets New and Returning Locations

Marked also changes World’s Edge with a darker visual theme and several redesigned points of interest.

Bloodhound’s tribe takes control of East Village, which now features a large Longhouse. War Camp replaces Survey Camp, while Tree Settlement introduces additional vertical movement options.

The update also brings back Sorting Factory, a popular location from earlier versions of the map. Construction Stacks return to Fragment, and Big Maude moves to a new position above Landslide.

The World’s Edge changes include:

  • New or redesigned areas at East Village, War Camp and Tree Settlement
  • The return of Sorting Factory and Construction Stacks
  • A new position for Big Maude
  • A darker visual identity connected to Bloodhound’s story

The revised locations should affect drop patterns and early rotations. Sorting Factory’s return could draw squads away from Fragment, although player behaviour will determine whether the map becomes more evenly populated.

Corrupted Attachments Add Risk and Reward

Corrupted attachments introduce stronger equipment with potential disadvantages. Respawn describes them as high-risk, high-reward items intended to change how players evaluate weapon upgrades.

Energy weapons are also receiving broader changes. Visible weapon statistics will show how attachments affect performance, making it easier to compare upgrades without relying entirely on external guides.

Respawn is also simplifying the loot system. Support and Assault Bins, Explosive Holds, loot-bin resets and wildlife loot are being removed. Remaining loot sources will be rebalanced to reduce the time squads spend searching for ideal equipment.

The goal appears to be faster preparation and more frequent fights. Removing specialised loot sources could make matches easier to understand, but it may also reduce the value of routes built around class-specific bins and other predictable resources.

Assessment

Marked looks like a systems-focused Apex Legends season rather than a traditional content expansion built around a new character. Bloodhound’s rework is the central feature, especially because the new Ultimate can influence an entire squad instead of only improving the user’s personal combat ability.

Loba and Rampart should become more flexible, while the World’s Edge revisions may redistribute early fights across the map. Corrupted attachments and simplified looting could have an even wider effect by changing decisions in every match.

The update’s competitive impact will depend on final values and counterplay. If Bloodhound’s team cloak proves reliable, the Legend could quickly return to the top of the Ranked and ALGS Meta. If the ability is easy to detect or interrupt, the rework may instead provide more options without becoming dominant.
