The Apex Legends community has been recently expressing a lot of discontent with various game issues. Some players want more changes to Crypto, some don’t like the leaked stickers feature and some ask for matchmaking fixes.

The last few weeks were without a doubt unpleasant for Respawn Entertainment, which has been receiving a lot of critique after releasing the latest Apex Legend patch. Following the release of the Season 13 named Saviours at the start of May, players have been sound about many issues the game is currently suffering with.

Crypto’s buff more of a nerf

Crypto is an Apex Legends hero that was added to the game back in 2019, during Season 3. Ever since he was added, many players reported that he was underpowered and needed a buff. Crypto’s fans waited for almost two years for major changes and in the latest Season 13, the developers finally listened to their demands. Specifically, they reworked Crypto’s main feature — the drone.

The changes made caused a lot of discussion in the community, with many players who play Crypto as their main hero having similar opinions — that his buff was more of a nerf and that the new features weren’t as smooth as they could be. Apart from sharing experiences with the new update, players also started proposing their own versions of the Crypto skills in order to improve them.

However, the other side of the Apex community claims that the problem is not in Crypto, but in people using him in the wrong way as he is an “information-based Legend”. To win fights with Crypto, players should pick appropriate heroes to accompany the trio well. Also, Apex Legends is a game that requires communication within the party. To achieve victory,  it’s important to share directions and enemies’ positions with your allies.

Upcoming Apex Legends stickers upset the community

According to the leaks, Apex Legends developers will soon add stickers to the game. With the new sticker bundles, players will be able to customize their weapons just like in Call of Duty: Warzone or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The feature is allegedly still in development, however, some players already found images of the upcoming cosmetics in the game files and even recorded in-game videos of it.

However, players seem not satisfied with this new update. The main standpoint is that it is just another paid item that is not so needed at the moment and is just a waste of money. Moreover, fans were also upset that the rareness of stickers equals Epic/Legendary items in the game.

Therefore, when players eventually buy a Legendary bundle, they can open a weapon sticker instead of the same quality skin, or instead of the heirloom, which is a Mystic skin for a melee weapon, considered one of the most unique items in the game.

Solo queue nearly unplayable

In Season 13, Respawn Entertainment introduced a new Ranked System which added a new Rookie rank and changed the number of RP points given for kills or taken for low placement. The whole matchmaking system was affected by these changes, which induced a wave of negativity in the community.

If I gain less points for killing lower ranked players then I need to lose less RP when they are on my team from apexlegends

With the new competitive season, players’ ranks were downgraded and users who prefer to conquer Apex Legends solo claim that it’s now quite impossible to win because of the new matchmaking system. According to the community, new players usually enter the team with players of a lower rank, thus it’s quite impossible for them to win because of the rank discrepancy. Players now demand the fix of the solo queue, as currently, it is hard to earn a high rank without a party of well-known friends with high skill.

All of these statements might lead to an assumption that the Apex Legends community is currently having lots of issues with the game and is not so satisfied with where the game’s development is heading. It seems that Respawn Entertainment needs to listen to the opinion of players more and provide what they exactly want in order to keep the player base.
