The League of Legends competitive scene continues to experience different lineup changes throughout the regions. And usually, these changes are of experienced players who want to take some time off or move away from the scene.

Now, the protagonist is in the LCS, specifically in the Immortals team, which announced a change in its mid-lane lineup starting this week. The experienced player Nicholas “Ablazeolive” Abbott leaves the lineup for “personal reasons,” and Onur “Bolulu” Demirol will take his place.

Ablazeolive leaves the Immortals lineup for personal reasons.

As has happened in recent weeks with some players in different esports, Ablazeolive has decided to take a break from the League of Legends competitive scene. Immortals, the team to which he still belongs, has published a statement where they point out that the 24-year-old player will take a back seat for the rest of the Split.

As we note in the statement, Immortals clarifies that this change is because Ablazeolive wants to take a break from the scene. To this, the organization added:

“We prioritize the welfare of our players and staff above all else and fully support Nick in his decision.”

Now, in his place, will play Bolulu, the Immortals mid-laner in the Challengers division. This player will occupy the fifth spot on the main team for the remaining seven games on the schedule. This means that Bolulu’s permanence in the main team depends on his performance in these remaining LCS matches.

On the other hand, Ablazeolive said in a statement:

“After much thought, I believe this is the best decision for me. I want to thank my teammates, staff, org, and fans for their support and understanding.”

Not a good start to the season for Immortals

So far in LCS, we have seen an Immortals team with many problems in each game. Because of this, the team has not been able to fight for a playoff spot, as the team’s current record in the Spring Split is 2-9. This terrible record to start the year leaves Immortals in ninth place in the table, only ahead of Dignitas, who has only managed to win once.

About Bolulu

As mentioned, Bolulu is part of Immortals’ Challengers division team, which has not stopped winning draws during the season. They have a record of two wins, three losses, and seven draws. So far this season, Bolulu has a KDA of 4.3, according to Gol.gg.

It is still too early to tell if Ablazeolive’s reasons will be permanent or if the player will return in the summer. What we are sure of, however, is that he will miss the rest of the spring season, and Bolulu will be his replacement.
