Nintendo has announced that approximately 75 percent of all Switch 1 games it has tested for backward compatibility on Switch 2 have no visible problems.
It was previously announced that Switch games will be playable on Nintendo Switch 2 via emulation. Nintendo therefore plans to test as many Switch games as possible to ensure that as many games as possible work as well as possible on the upcoming new console.
The company recently updated its data on these tests. So far, 118 games have been identified that have problems starting up, while 50 games can start up but have certain issues during gameplay. There are also 54 games with issues that should be resolved on or around the console’s release date.
In any case, no problems have been found in about 75 percent of the more than 15,000 third-party games that have been tested. Another 24 percent can be started, but more tests are needed to see how the game runs after the start screen. Precise details can be found on this webpage.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be officially released on June 5. The console will cost $469.99, although a version of the console will also be available for $509.99, which includes a digital code for Mario Kart World.
