Indie store Itch.io has released a charity game bundle called “Bundle for Ukraine”. This bundle collected more than $6 million. Humble Bundle’s fundraiser has also collected over $6 million in donations. In total, $12 million has been raised to support Ukraine’s refugees.

Ukraine urgently needs donations

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has resulted in millions of refugees and thousands of deaths. Many families have been forced to flee the country and most are currently in neighboring countries, where charity organizations are feeding them. Meanwhile, Ukraine is being bombed and many people who are still on the ground are resisting the invasion and defending their country.

At the same time, Western countries in particular have been pressuring Vladimir Putin and Russia with economic sanctions. These sanctions have not stopped at esports and many Russian players have been affected by the sanctions. At the same time, many Ukrainian players are also in very difficult situations because some of them are either on the run or trapped in Ukraine.

Bundle offers 1000 games for 10 dollars

Necrosoft Games director Brandon Sheffield created the first bundle. The bundle was put online in early March and combined almost 1,000 games into one huge bundle. So these 1,000 games had a value of several thousand dollars – but thanks to the charity campaign, buyers got the bundle for $10.

Actually, they had only hoped for a few tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue from the bundle. But within a day it was already over a million dollars and by the end of the action it was over 6.3 million dollars. In the meantime, another bundle was organized, this time by Humble Bundle. The goal was the same: raise as much money as possible to support Ukraine in these difficult times.

Similar to the other bundle, it contains lots of games. Although there are not 1000 games, but only 100, which is also a considerable amount. The bundle costs $40 and has also exceeded 6 million faster than expected. With such a bargain, it is also understandable that many people have struck – and in addition, the money is donated to a good cause. The Humble Bundle will continue for a few more days and it could well be that even more money will be collected by then and the 7 million mark will be cracked.

At the moment, the two bundles have already raised over $12 million for Ukraine. The International Medical Corps and Voices of Children will receive the donations. We’re sure to see more of these types of campaigns in the future.
